BC Artistic Swimming recognizes its members through its annual Awards Celebration and supports member's achievements and development through its Bursary Program.
BCAS hosts an annual Awards Celebration to honour the accomplishments, progress, and contributions of its members. We recognize several different award categories:
2023 NOMINATION FORM
The athlete awards recognize extraordinary athletic performances by an athlete on a team or as an individual during the previous season. BCAS also recognizes the extraordinary athletic performance by a BC club-based duet or team competing in national or provincial sanctioned events. For each age or event category, an award is granted in both the Provincial Stream and National Stream. Recipients are selected based on their performance in the previous season only and the detailed selection criteria established by the Awards Committee. Nominations are not accepted for these awards.

The Go For It Award recognizes an athlete who competed in artistic swimming as an individual, duet or team, in the previous season, after having suffered an unusual setback.

The Club Development Award recognizes club membership growth in the sport of artistic swimming in BC. Recipients are selected based on their growth in the previous season in accordance with registration statistics. Nominations are not accepted for these awards.
CLUB DEVELOPMENT AWARD SELECTION CRITERIA
Nominations must be submitted in accordance with the submissions requirements established by the Awards Committee.
Female Coach of the Year: Recognizes the exceptional achievement of an individual who has been responsible for coaching a team(s), duet(s), and/or solo(s) at the National Stream level. Excellence in Coaching: Recognizes an individual who demonstrates exemplary leadership in the sport of artistic swimming at the Provincial Stream level. Sport Development Coaching: Recognizes the exceptional contribution of a coach who demonstrates exemplary leadership and development for the sport of artistic swimming as an AquaGO!, Recreational, Adaptive Artistic Swimming and/or Masters' Coach.

The BC Officials Committee (BCOC) are responsible for the nomination of individuals who meet the eligibility criteria established by the Awards Committee. Nominations from members clubs may also be considered.

BC Artistic Swimming offers a multi-pronged Bursary Program that supports member development as well as merit-based bursaries:
Development bursaries are available in all membership categories to financially support participation and development opportunities.
This is a confidential bursary offered for athletes, whose families have demonstrated financial need, and are unable to cover the costs of sport development activities outside of the regular, club-based training environment. A maximum of 4 bursaries of up to $1,000 may be awarded annually.
BURSARY DETAILS APPLICATION FORM
This bursary assists coaches who are interested in upgrading their technical expertise and/or experience by supporting their attendance at in-province, out-of-province, or out-of-country coaching seminars or conferences, major domestic or international competitions while not actively coaching, or other professional development opportunities. Up to 6 bursaries of $500 may be awarded annually.
This bursary financially assists BC athletes who accept an invitation to and attend a National Team Selection Camp and are selected to and accept a position on a National Team or National Team Athlete Pool. The bursary supports participation in out-of-province camps, training or competitions with a National Team. BCAS can award up to $4,000 annually with up to $500 being available for athletes who attend a National Team Selection Camp and up to $1,000 for athletes who accept a position on a National Team or National Team Athlete Pool.
BURSARY DETAILS
This bursary offers financial assistance to officials who are interested in opportunities to upgrade their experience, education and/or certification level, allowing them to participate in an out-of-province or out-of-country seminar or conference, attend major domestic or international competitions, or other professional development opportunities. Up to 6 bursaries of $500 will be offered each season.
BCAS offers a selection of bursaries that are awarded to members on a merit-basis and in consideration of their achievement in the sport of artistic swimming. These bursaries have been established in the memory of individuals who were significant stewards and contributors to the development of artistic swimming in BC. An annual bursary of $200 to support a first-year Junior athlete who demonstrates continued growth in their artistic swimming career. BCAS accepts nominations from member clubs for this bursary.
This bursary of $300 is awarded annually based on the results of a pre-established calculation determines the recipient. The athlete and their personal coach with the highest total is awarded the bursary. Applications are not required.
Established in 2021, the Mable Moran Award recognizes members - athletes, coaches, officials, clubs, teams, volunteers, etc. - who demonstrate notable effort to instill passion for artistic swimming in others. This bursary is intended to support the recipient in their ongoing pursuit of endeavours or activities that influence, build, connect, lead, and foster growth of artistic swimming in BC. This $500 award is given out annually during the Mable Moran Provincial Qualifier.
